Excel Supplies in Fort Myers is hosting a NORMI Certifited Mold Assessor/Remediator class from September 14-17, 2010 at their location on 6301 Topaz Court, Ft. Myers, FL 33966. The class is 32 hours of training on toxic mold assessment, diagnosing of moisture problems, moisture planes, sanitization and remediation techniques and includes actual hands-on training in establishing containment, creating negative pressure and PPE. This comprehensive training is recommended for all mold professionals where they intend to be licensed or not.
This class has been touted by students as “the best and most practical mold class I’ve ever taken” and sets a standard in the industry because it is based on the accepted techniques recommended by NYC Guidelines, EPA, and IICRC. In fact, continuing education credits are offered to those who are already certified by IICRC or ACAC (formerly AmIAQC) and those who take the class are given an opportunity to take the proctored examination offered for NORMI Certification.
The State of Florida now offers a grandfather opportunity (through March 2011) for those who have received such training and certified by a nationally recognized organization (like NORMI and the ACAC) who also offers a proctored examination. Both organization provide proctored examinations to comply with this licensing requirement…the path is not difficult and Best Training School will assist anyone who is interested in pursuing Florida licensing. This class also prepares the student for licensing in Louisiana, Maryland, and Arkansa once the student completes other state licensing requirements.
NORMI, the National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors, was recently granted CE Training Provider status by the State of Florida under the direction of the new Mold Related Services.
